Eastampton is the best kept secret in Burlington
County. We are home to the oldest and largest county park, Smithville
County Park. We have one of the finest school systems in the county. In 2004, Eastampton was awarded the NJ Future Smart Growth
Award. Innovative planning is the hallmark of the Township Council and
Eastampton School District, all with the support of the residents. It
was the residents who, through Plan the Land, designed the Village
Center, supported an open space preservation trust fund that saved 1/3
of the township from suburban sprawl development, and approved the
building of the state-of-the-art Eastampton Community School. Eastampton’s heritage dates back to the 1880’s
and the Star Bicycle Company making Eastampton home to some of the
earliest innovations in the American bicycling industry. Innovations are
not limited to our past. We are actively thinking outside of the box to
improve services and reduce costs. We have entered into a shared
services agreement with a nearby town for tax assessor services. We have
entered into a three town agreement for construction office services,
and we are part of an 11 town consortium for the collection of apartment
complex trash. We are working cooperatively with a neighboring town to
improve our athletic programs. Instead of competing, we have joined
forces to offer sports programs that today are thriving. In 2008, we
will be seeking out new opportunities to innovate in an effort to
improve services and ensure your local government runs as efficiently as
possible. Eastampton is a wonderful community in which to live and raise a family, just ask one of our many long time residents. It is the Eastampton volunteers that make Eastampton a great community, so please be an Eastampton volunteer by participating in school, township, or other local organizations like scouting. Thank you for allowing me to serve you. Sincerely,
Richard V. Renzulli Mayor, Eastampton Twp. |
