Dog Licenses

Dog Licenses must be renewed by January 31st ANNUALLY.   Current rabies vaccination certificates required, and spayed/neutered certification required if applicable.  A printable application is available here and may be turned in to the Township Municipal Building.  

 

Garage Sales

Garage Sales are permitted twice each year.  Permits are available at the Police Department.

 

Voter Registration

Trash Collection and Recycling

General - Please note that the items listed below may not be set out for pick-up prior to 6 p.m. on evening before the scheduled collection day.  

 

Trash Collection Wednesday.  In case of holiday, collection will be the following day.  Please note that carpet must be cut into 4' section, rolled and tied.

 

White Goods (All Appliances)  These items are picked up on the first Wednesday of each month and must be called into the Township.  Residents must contact the township receptionist at 267-5723 x200 to inform her of the address where the item will be located. Residents must remove doors from appliances and dismantle swing sets.

 

Cans, glass, paper and plastic are collected every other Monday through an interlocal government services agreement with Burlington County.  Recyclables are to be placed at the curb prior to 6:00 AM on collection day.  The Township distributes a recycling schedule annually and  For further information on recycling, please call the "Burlington County Recycling Hotline" - (609) 267-6889. 

Township Drop Off.  Residents may drop off small quantities ( a trunk load) of cardboard, tires, glass,  and aluminum at the recycling shed behind the Police Building located at 725 Smithville Road at any time.

Branches are collected by Public Works through their brush chipper program.  Please place brush and tree limbs, no more than eight inches in diameter, on your curb the first Monday of each month by 7:30am.  Note that the Public Works Department will run through the entire town beginning on Monday, however it may take one or two additional days to pick up all brush.  Please leave your brush on the curb.  The department will only make one sweep of the town each month due to personnel limitations.   

 

Leaves may not be placed in trash.  The Township will pick up leaves on an ongoing basis starting November 1st until they are all picked up (usually complete by end of February.)  Leaves may be raked to the curb or bagged.  The Department of Public Works will usually place signs in each neighborhood informing residents they will be coming around in the next week.  A general schedule is also published in the municipal calendar/annual report that is sent out in February and two ads are placed in the Burlington County Times. 

 

ITEMS NOT COLLECTED BY TOWNSHIP - DISPOSAL INSTRUCTIONS

Stumps, Large Shrubs and Trees.  The Township will not collect these items. Residents should arrange for disposal through their landscape service or deliver them directly to the Burlington County Resource Recovery Facility in Mansfield.  Take Route 295 to exit 52A and bear right off of exit ramp.  The facility is just about 100 yards down the road. The phone number is 499-5300.  The cost of disposal in $22 per ton. 

 

Hazardous Materials such as paint, motor oil, lead acid batteries, anti-freeze, pool chemicals.   These items must be delivered to the Burlington County Resource Recovery Facility in Mansfield and are accepted by appointment only.  To schedule an appointment, please call 499-5200. Take Route 295 to exit 52A and bear right off of exit ramp.  The facility is just about 100 yards down the road.
