On June 13, 2009, Eastampton Township will hold its annual 5K Park Run and Walk and Kids 1 Mile Fun Run.  The 5K Course is USATF Certified.  The 5K events follow a unique path beginning at the Rancocas Valley Regional High School Athletic Fields continuing through Historic Smithville Park and Smith’s Woods.  There is one set of stairs within the runners course.  There are two sets of stairs and a floating bridge within the walkers course.  Ninety-five percent of the course is on a man-made hard packed material with the beginning and end of the course on grass fields. The Kids Fun Run is set on the athletic fields to allow for visibility. Youth track/cross country/running teams may register their team to participate in the team competition.  The winning school or league will be awarded a gift certificate for the purchase of new equipment.
