Welcome Letter from Mayor Apgar

Dear Friends,

I would like to thank you again for placing your confidence in me as one of your elected representatives on the Eastampton Township Council. I would also like to thank my family – my wife, Alison, whose strong support has made my service possible, and my two daughters, Cassie and Sierra, who inspire me as this Council works to build an even better home town.

I am honored to serve as your Mayor for 2018. This is truly an exciting time for our community, with property values on the rise and many positive changes on the horizon. Our community’s Master Plan has long called for us to balance economic development and the preservation of open space, and toward this end, there are now major redevelopment projects underway in our Town Center. Along the Route 206 corridor, we are also seeing the expansion of existing business and the relocation of new businesses to our town.

This Council has historically committed itself to the delivery of exceptional services at an affordable price. Last year, for example, we continued to improve our use of technology – adopting GovPilot applications, accepting electronic tax payments, and redesigning our Police Department website – to make it easier for us to meet the needs of our residents. We relocated and began renovations on our Police Department. We also moved forward with our road improvement plans. And yet, for the fourth year in a row, we had a stable municipal tax rate.

I expect nothing different for 2018. We have an exceptional, dedicated Council and staff who are always looking for ways to better serve this community, and we have already secured grants and updated plans that will allow us to continue to move forward with road, park, and pedestrian and bicycle circulation improvement projects this year.

In short, 2018 will be another productive and prosperous year for our community, and I encourage you to remain engaged. If you haven’t already done so, please be sure to sign up for our monthly newsletters, and if you have questions or concerns, please know that you are always welcome to join us at our Township Council meetings, which take place the second and fourth Mondays of each month at the Manor House, beginning at 7:00 PM.

Best wishes for 2018,
