Planning & Land Use

The Land Use Planning Board functions under the authority of the Municipal Land Use law of New Jersey authorized to exercise power with regard to:

  • Adoption of Master Plan
  • Conditional use applications
  • Recommendations as to the official map of the Township
  • Recommendations as to the zoning ordinance or amendments thereto
  • Subdivision control and site plan review for permitted uses
  • Variances under certain circumstances in connection with site plans and subdivisions

The Land Use Planning Board is a nine member board and meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month in the Council Room of the Eastampton Municipal Building located at 12 Manor House Court.  Board members are made up of the following classes:

Class I: The Mayor or the Mayor's designee in the absence of the Mayor. Said designee shall serve at the pleasure of the Mayor during the Mayor's official tenure.
Class II: One of the officials of the Township other than a member of the Township Council, to be appointed by the Mayor.
Class III: A member of the governing body to be selected by the governing body.
Class IV: Six citizens of the Township of Eastampton to be appointed by the Mayor.
