Brush Recycling Program

Industrial Wood Chipper

The Township owns a brush chipper that has enhanced the services provided by the Eastampton Township Public Works Department, and has reduced the tonnage amount being disposed of at the Landfill. This machine will chip branches up to 8 inches in diameter, and the following is an outline of the Brush Recycling Program.  Please see the below Brush Recycling Schedule and the Township of Eastampton Code Enforcement Ordinance and Brush Disposal bulletin for collection beginning in April through November.

  • Please ensure brush is out prior to 6:00 am.
  • Every street will be collected only one time.  The Public Works Department cannot return to pick up brush placed curbside midweek, and the brush will not be collected if your street has already been done.
  • Please do not place brush curbside more than one week prior to pick up.  Piled brush for extended periods of time creates storm drain blockages and heavy debris on Township roadways.
  • Brush should be no larger than (8) eight inches in diameter, and must be four (4) feet or longer.
  • Brush should be piled curbside so as to not block view or traffic, with all cut ends facing the same direction.  For ease of loading all cut ends should be facing away from traffic, as brush will be fed into the chipper cut ends first.
  • All vines, bamboo, and root balls must be removed.  Mixed materials will not be collected.
  • Public Works will not collect large piles of brush as a result of any large landscaping projects or commercially cut brush. Disposal must be provided by the contractor or removed at the homeowner’s expense. This service is provided to assist resident’s dispose of small amounts of brush and tree limbs.
  • Brush resulting from lot clearing and/or tree removal by a contractor or done by the owner themselves shall be the responsibility of the property owner and shall not be collected by Public Works.  Disposal must be provided by the contractor or removed at the homeowner’s expense.
  • Small sticks, vines, and small shrubs are not brush collection.  They can be disposed of through bulk pickup, as long as they are tied in bundles weighing less than 50 pounds and are no longer than (3) three feet in length.

During the months of December through March brush will not be collected.  Do not put any brush out for collection during these winter months, or you will receive a letter to remove, followed by a Notice of Violation.  If you have brush that needs disposal of you may take it to the Burlington County Resource Recovery Complex located at 2000 Burlington Columbus Rd.
